A bi-lingual host/manager oversees all activities on each Barge Camp and the Blackwater Explorer. Each of those hosts is a qualified ecotourism guide.
Anglers who would enjoy a break from the peacock bass fishing may take advantage of some interesting sights. This is nature's premier botanical garden where you can find two hundred foot hardwood trees, tiny orchids, flocks of fluorescent butterflies, fifteen-foot caiman alligators, slow-moving sloths, swift pink and gray porpoises, monkeys, manatees, ibis, macaws, parrots, parakeets, ducks, and countless other marvelous creatures. Guided jungle hikes are quite enjoyable with an emphasis on medicinal and other rare and unusual plants. Guided visits to Indian villages are also available.
